With the beautiful photo exhibition WHERE OWN STÅR, photographer, artist and journalist chris1million examines the relationship between humans, nature and time. 

All over Denmark you can find beautiful, distinctive and remarkable oak trees, each with its own story. Despite the passage of time, there is still life in many of the old oak trees and each one  Are they worth a visit? 

Christian Reventlow, who owned Pederstrup 250 years ago, loved the big old oak trees and gave the biggest and oldest names. Many of the old oak trees that Reventlow knew and loved still stand like mastodons in the landscape. They are nature's own sculptures, which with their long-standing presence provide peace and a sense of time.  

Explore photos and stories about the historic oak trees and then take a walk in Reventlow Park, where among the many historic trees you will find the Five-Trunked Oak, where legend has it that a count's daughter once died because she loved a simple farmer - and that she therefore now wanders restlessly around the park at midnight.  

WHERE THE OAK STANDS has also been published as a book (Muusmann Forlag, May 2025) with over 100 photographs and stories about 30 selected oak trees from all over the country. The book's texts are written by Christina Jensen and Tanja Brinks Toubro, and Christina Jensen/chris1million has also shot all the book's photos. The book can be purchased in the museum shop.
