Availability
People with walking difficulties and wheelchair users
MUSEUM OBSCURUM is housed in an old building full of stairs and nooks and crannies, which unfortunately does not make the building handicap-friendly. Access to the exhibition is therefore only possible for pedestrians, as there are stairs to the first floor. There are handrails all the way up, and the stairs are wide.
It is possible to visit the Tourist Information and the Old Grocery Store on the ground floor for wheelchair users via a ramp from street level. See more at Good Access.
Visually impaired
As the museum deals with superstition, the lighting in some rooms is minimal to contribute to a mysterious atmosphere. However, signs with text are illuminated.
Since the museum is housed in old buildings, there are some unevenness in the floor, which can be difficult to see if you are visually impaired.
Hearing impaired
Speakers are placed in some rooms to contribute to the mysterious atmosphere. However, the sound is not essential to the experience.
Toilets
The museum's only toilet is located on the way up the stairs towards the museum. Unfortunately, there is no access to disabled toilets.
Accompanying card
If you, as a guest, need assistance when using our offer, we accept companion cards.
Dogs
Dogs that can be in a bag are welcome in the exhibition.
We have a courtyard for larger dogs, where there is a dog corner and water, so your best friend can have fun while you enjoy the museum.
Service dogs are welcome.
Do you want a quiet visit?
The museum consists of a lot of smaller rooms, which means that even a few visitors can feel like a lot. If you want a quiet visit, we recommend visiting us during the last two hours of opening hours. Our public tours are often at the end of the day, so check our Calendar.
Parking
There is parking in several places in the city, Havnepladsen Parking is only approx. 300 meters from the museum.
