arkæologisk sommerskole 2025

Du vil:
· Møde arkæologer, forskere og stenalder-eksperter
· Deltage på en rigtig, arkæologisk (stenalder-)udgravning
· Indsamle prøver og lære at analysere dem i et mikroskop
· Deltage i master classes med eksperter inden for arkæologi og naturvidenskab
· Deltage i spændende ekskursioner
· Deltage i eksperimental arkæologiske forsøg, hvor vi prøver at fiske som i stenalderen, forbereder en bosættelse og lave mad over ild.
· Møde ligesindede arkæologi-nørder.
· Udvikle dine videnskabelige engelsk-kundskaber.
Vi håber, at du på sommerskolen får udviklet kompetencer, erfaringer og viden, der kan hjælpe dig videre – både hvis du ønsker at uddanne dig til arkæolog, er i gang med at uddanne dig til arkæolog eller har andre videregående uddannelser i sigte.
Sommerskolen varer en uge og finder sted på Naturskolen ved Maribosøerne. Opholdet er inklusive måltider, men uden overnatning.

Mere om sommerskolen
Ancient catches is part of the international SYLFISH research project. It is a one-week course (5 days) in the summer of 2025 from 9am to 4pm every day, targeting motivated young people aged 18-24, at Naturskolen Lolland, adjacent to the Maribo Lakes. It is located near some of the first and pioneering Danish archaeological excavations.
You will work with hands-on investigation of Stone Age fishing practices and old and new archaeological methods: shovel and microscope. A large part of archaeology as a scientific field is physical – it is practical. Therefore, we will work with actual prehistory in one hand: visit real excavations, make samples, and analyze them under a microscope, in the other hand, we work with experience: how do we build fish fences, prepare settlements, gather food, make fire, and cook over bonfires.
Through a series of activities, excursions, analysis and practical tasks, you will develop their own theories about ancient human’s relationship with landscape and nature. In between the activities, you will meet various experts who will unfold relevant insights. Together we will develop new questions to old materials.
